Tuck Loong is a qualified practicing accountant for both Malaysia and New Zealand. He handled a variety of business structures in auditing, tax management and corporate secretarial work. His experience of almost 17 years in professional work had entrenched good work ethics, professionalism as well as a rounded knowledge of the complexities of businesses, its processes and the rudiments of businesses.
His courageous effort stationing in Auckland for the last 5 years has enabled his recognition of the huge business complementary potential between New Zealand and ASEAN. The innovativeness, creativeness and “greenness” of New Zealand versus the industriousness, enterprise of its ASEAN counterparts augurs well for business link up in various forms. Having understood both sets of business culture on a first hand basis, Tuck Loong is most ideal to reduce and manage the cultural divide that can often derail trade initiative between parties.
He has since been propelling real business initiatives bridging the New Zealand know-how to the demand of ASEAN, from agricultural to bio-energy, from private SMEs to public governmental ministries with the benefactors spreading across the heart of ASEAN – Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
In his term as the Council and Executive member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Malaysia Division in 1990s, he was also an active member of the Financial and Management Accounting Committee of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants. He is an established speaker and had written management articles to the News Straits Times. His invitation by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturer as well as CIMA to speak on Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Kuala Lumpur recently is a testament of his caliber.
Tuck Loong is now active in both the New Zealand-Malaysia and ASEAN Combined Business Councils and is frequently invited to functions of visiting ASEAN Heads of State with businesses in Auckland. He keenly writes for and has been interviewed by the New Zealand media on trading with ASEAN.
Tuck Loong recent interest includes the exploration of private trust structure that enables the preservation of family wealth for future generation.
