“Ordinary Actions Repeated Consistently Produce Extraordinary Result”
… a saying that I have heard a while ago and recently being replanted into my mind again by one Alex Mandossian who is obviously enjoying much success in internet marketing by earning yearly income of ordinary people on an hourly basis. Alex’s aspiration is to be the 1st internet Billionaire working from his home; I am sure he is not too far away from it! Well done, Alex!
Remember School? Hopefully, that is not too far back in your memory. Happy days, isn’t it? We had fun learning and playing together but who on Earth came up with this idea called “home work”? May be calling it “Learning and Playing Practices” would be more fun and sexy but work; you are not suppose to work at home! (Opps… Sorry Alex!)
We are some how trained (involuntarily) to do and complete home work. We do not want the consequences of not finishing home work – those pains and humiliations! After a while, we just do home work naturally without even asking why we are doing it in the first place. The fact is that we are trained since young to start and finish tasks that are given to us. Starting and completing tasks therefore can not get any more ordinary to us; it’s almost part of us.
However as soon as we leave school, we seem to distance ourselves from the teaching of home work. May be it is easier in the real world to get away from not completing things as things change only too fast (or too many too fast). There are way too many fires fighting to do and yes… those excuses that conveniently lead us to put aside important (but not urgent) tasks that we have easily identified much earlier. We would never know in the world of “If only…..”.
Here is the truth: You can only have result if you have completed the task! See?
So, what is this statement “Ordinary Actions Repeated Consistently Produce Extraordinary Result” about? It is an illustration of the processes in accumulating experience, the more you do it the better you get.
These actions need only to be ordinary; simple facts that we know since young. Here are the other favourites on my list:
- Timekeeping – remember we used to be on time. 9 o’clock means 9 o’clock, NOT 9.15! One hour means one hour; NOT can I have 5 more minutes please…
- Meeting deadlines – NOT missing it or negotiating for extension…
- Be accountable – tell the truth and take the responsibility….
- Be honest – tell the truth, people like to help…
If that statement is true (I don’t know, you have to DO it yourself!), you must first have the commitment to COMPLETE. If only you start and complete that you will know the result. If you don’t complete, then you will never know the result. You will never know that it is extraordinary and you would never know that it is only ordinary. Get it?
Trust me, if you start completing your tasks from now on, your results shall be extraordinary!
Here is a tip, timing is important and the best timing is NOW. Have Fun with your “Home Work”!
