Faithful Leadership illustrate…

“There I was returning from yet another last minute business trip in the wake of the New Year (Yes, action starts early this year), I was the first off the plane (for the first time too). Following the guidance of the flight attendant in her flaming RED uniform (yes, the Airline!), I was leading the pack (It comes naturally to me as I was the first in the line) on the tarmac heading to the arrival hall. Then she stopped at the first junction and pointed to a general direction to her right.

I nodded in response to her friendly smile and continue to walk in that direction. The airport terminal has certainly expanded as I felt unusually far away to the exit. It was a quite a long way to walk and there are too many signage that point to every other destinations but mine along with the pack that follows diligently behind me; and all in the thick of the actions in the airport tarmac with groups marching here and there for boarding; not mentioning the ever busy airport operations with vehicles patrolling up and down.

I walked faster as a result. I looked back and realized that I was the leader leading the pack with a considerable distance. No help can be sought but I keep moving forward.

There are many temptations to change the directions along the way (quit?) but I persist on the same direction after some timely little battles in my mind. My pace is unsure and slower than earlier at this point.

I was frantically looking for a sign to the end of the road as I do not want to fail the troop behind me (tribe?) and I found the light by keep believing to the pointing hand of the flight attendant earlier at the first junction. My pace picked up again in great determination.

I have faith, I kept them and mission accomplished.”

… That’s a great little experience on Leadership (voluntarily or involuntarily) keeping the Belief, leading the Tribe and overcoming the Dip before the success!
