Time is ticking fast… second by second we are closer to the most auspicious day in year 2007 as we marched into the second half of this meaningful year:
7 July 2007 ~ 070707 ~ simply “777”, YES you have hit the “JACKPOT”!!!
7 July 2007 ~ 070707 ~ simply “777”, YES you have hit the “JACKPOT”!!!
So they say…
There will be a lot of weddings on this day and a lot of new businesses are officially open in this day too.
For those of you close to CA would know that we have initially planned for this “Triple 7” to be our CA Open Day at our new office ushering each and everyone of you into the new CA era. We have planned to showcase you our brand of services in close proximity and warm your heart with sincere smile from each and everyone of the CA crew stationed diligently at their post to let you experience the real meaning of “We Deliver”. Not mentioning our series of teasers campaign that keep you captivated for months prior to this “777”. That was all in my first address to the CA crew in 2007.
So that was the plan….
Well, the developer have encountered some delay with the various authorities as a result they have yet to handover the premises as promised earlier to be in March this year, I am still waiting for that all important call “Your Key is Ready for Collection!”. Anxiously await now for the CA New Home.
A few weeks ago, I have announced the change of plan in this regard to the CA Crew and we are now geared towards Project “F4” at the final third of the year. Watch out for the Fantastic 4, Fabulous 4 or Flower 4, in whatever name you call it!
The realization is simple, planning is good for aligning your thoughts (and that’s about it for the brain exercise) and it might not be the case necessarily. Things might not all happened at the same time as planned, that’s the beauty of planning; plan for the eventuality, plan for the unknown, plan A and plan B! You will never now, you should not be discouraged when things do not go in accordance with the plan because take it from me, that’s the norm. We all dream of overnight successes but that is however odd on minority.
Journey of the thousand miles starts with a very little step, and another, and another, slowly but surely.
That’s why I believe in seeds planting here and there and not thinking of its fruition as fruits bearing are only natural. The catch is that fruits are not all sweet all the time, there are bad ones too; you learned all the time.
Again, I stressed the key word here is “believe”. The power of “think big, ACT SMALL!”.
This led me to the first motivational book that I ever bought myself with my own saving “Dare to Fail” when I started college. Billi Lim has enlightened me since then that failure is the norm while success is the odd one out. Behind every success, there was a trail of failures preceding to it. In the worse case, I am only a poor man trying.
Just like the other day, I did not plan to be an expert in certain hot topic of the day. But I was asked to be that expert and I believe in being such expert as I have planted a seed of this nature long ago that I would be an expert in the manner such opportunity presented to me. I ended up locking horn in a PR campaign with the Big Boy who is commonly regarded as the real expert. Personally, I believe that I came out of the battle unscratched. Yet, I’m mindful that it was only a battle, the war is not won yet. Journey continues.
Mocking John Naisbitt’s mindsets analysis (highly recommended reading! Money backed guarantee from me….)
- “When many things change, most things remain constant” – while the developer is trying to be diligent and efficient in getting the earlier delivery, the things that remain constant like the ultra stable authorities that are unlikely to change their entrenched work ethics shall always ensure most results remain the same.
- “Understanding how powerful it is not to have to be right” – accepting failure and imperfection to be the norm allows you an open mind to the whole world of goods thus reducing your distance with success. Never stop trying, never says never, there is always room for improvement.
- “Don’t get so far ahead of the parade that people that people don’t know you are in it” – The sender has to stay within the range of the receiver. Be prepared to realign your message to the rest of the team. They must know what you are doing.
- “Things that we expect to happen always happen more slowly” – Expectation always travel at higher speeds. Things just take time – almost always more time than we expect. When it happened, Triple 7 can always become F4! Plans are meant to be changed, be flexible. In our dreamland, we always discounted the human factor.
- “You don’t get results by solving problems but by exploiting opportunities” – Take on the Big Boys since you have always asked for it; seize the opportunities with both hands and seize the day! I am now slowly being recognized as the expert that I always wanted to be. Opportunities are knocking fast and hard, take it with the best smile that only glaring sun can outshines!
